Grundfos CM5-4 Duty-Standby Transfer Pump Set

The Grundfos CM5-4 transfer pump set is a two-pump assembly for water-transfer duties where service continuity is required. OPAR Online fabricates the set with two 1.5 HP horizontal multistage pumps, stainless-steel suction and discharge manifolds, a manual DOL starter panel and a galvanised iron base frame.

The pumps are arranged as one duty and one standby. The final operating sequence and level-control method are selected to suit the storage tanks, site wiring and project specification. This transfer set does not include a pressure tank or pressure switch unless they are specifically added to the approved quotation.

Fabrication details

Both manifolds are stainless steel; GI manifold pipework is not used. The complete assembly is mounted on a galvanised iron base frame. Valves, gauges, fittings and electrical protection are selected to match the approved system arrangement rather than treated as interchangeable items.

Control and site requirements

The standard panel uses DOL starters. Tank level switches, float switches or other level-control devices must be confirmed for the project because the required arrangement depends on the source and receiving tanks. For applications that need soft starting or speed control, a Schneider Electric VFD version should be specified separately.

Is this the same as a booster pump set?

No. A transfer set normally moves water between storage points using level control. A booster set maintains delivery pressure and normally includes pressure-control components.
